Summary[edit | edit source]
Jake gets a surprise visit from an old acquaintance named Samuel, a witch hunter, who has a message for Blackwell about Eben's surprising next move. Cassie intervenes, forces Samuel to reveal his news and is stunned to find out what Eben is trying to resurrect. Meanwhile, Diana is frustrated that keeping the secrets of who they are is building a barrier between her and Grant. Faye and Melissa agree to help out Adam at the Boathouse and in return get him to help them use their magic to enhance their love life.
Plot[edit | edit source]
A man named Samuel is being chased through the woods by Eben and the other witch hunters. When he enters into Chance Harbor, Eben lets him go. Samuel goes straight to Jake's house and Jake attacks him. Cassie sees somebody in the Armstrong House fighting with Jake from her room and runs over. Samuel and Jake are friends - or were, in Jake's witch hunter days Samuel desperately needs help from John Blackwell. Eben is resurrecting demons and John is the only one who can help. John comes home and Samuel tells everything he knows. Eben is resurrecting the demons to use their power, destroying witches. Eben is working with a witch, but Samuel doesn't know who He does know that this is the same thing John did sixteen years ago. Cassie confronts her dad, and John promises his intentions were not as evil. He summoned the demons so that the witches could utilize their powers to beat the witch hunters. But the demons wanted to possess the witches and they were stronger than the circle back then. Amelia was the one who stopped them. John tells Cassie to gather the circle at the abandoned house; he will meet them there with Samuel. Instead, John takes Samuel out to the woods to the spot where he summoned the demons sixteen years ago. He knows that Samuel is already been sacrifce and has a demon inside him, and seals him in a magic circle etched in the dirt. The circle, by now realizing that Blackwell is doing this alone to protect them, head into the woods where they find Eben has already knocked out John. Jake goes to help Saumel, and breaks the dirt etching. The circle tries to use their power to stop Eben, who has cut his hand and chanting words. It doesn't work, so Cassie steps up and tries using her dark magic, She creates a flamethrower out of an old sword, and lights Samuel on fire. Samuel grabs Cassie and forms a fire boundary so the rest of the circle won't interfere. By now, John wakes up and Samuel taunts him, thinking that John has no power, but it shows that he does and kills Samuel. Eben now has the demons in him, John tells the kids to let him go because he is too strong for them to defeat. Back at the abandoned house, John gives the kids a kind of lecture. He spent sixteen years believing that witchcraft wasn't the answer, but now realizes that witchcraft is the only answer. He also suggests them to collect crystals so they can defeat the witch hunters. |

Quotes[edit | edit source]
- Adam: "It's been real fun having Blackwell back from the dead."
- John: "Either Eben is grooming an army of idiots, or you're telling the truth about demons. And, honestly, I prefer the former."
- Diana: "You know, Faye's right. You really are a drama queen." (to Cassie)
- Faye: "Did we just get stood up? By your dad?"
- Adam: "Cassie, I thought you were amazing. Up against the witch hunters tonight - amazing."
- Cassie: "Thanks."
- John: "How can I protect you from the dangers of dark magic if I keep using mine?"
- Adam: "The thing is, in the blink of an eye, I feel like everything was perfect, but I can't remember that feeling. And I keep trying, but I can't."
- Faye: "I'm grateful. That I never have to see Adam bat his lashes at her undersized head again."
